BASE CONCRETE
New concrete should be formulated with minimum cement content of 260 kg per m³ concrete and with an aggregate suitable for the intended purpose. The water cement ratio should be kept to the minimum needed to produce a fully compacted concrete without excess surface water.

APPLICATION OF BETOTOP 2
BETOTOP 2 is applied to new freshly laid concrete by dry shaking. For optimum results, sprinkling should take place in 2 stages, when applied manually. The first stage should be to apply two thirds of the coverage rate of the BETOTOP 2, following removal or evaporation of surface bleed water. Once this application of BETOTOP 2 has absorbed all of the moisture, it should be floated using power trowels. Immediately after the first power float is complete, the second remaining part of the BETOTOP 2 should be applied and repeat troweling. A smooth, hard finish is then achieved by use of a power trowel float equipped with finishing blades.

CURING
BETOTOP 2 need to be protected against the quick evaporation after the polishing process. A curing agent should be applied immediately after finishing operation in order to avoid cracking.
